Eunomia Process Builder provides a comprehensive tool to help you design and model your business processes.
Pure function
Allowing you to use both Unified Modeling Language (UML) 2.4 (and Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) 2.0 to build your designs, Eunomia Process Builder is not a program for novice users. With no personal background in either concept, much of the importance of the iconography was lost on me at first, as I became ever more confused by the range of options available.
But, by digging a little deeper, it slowly became clear that my confusion was because Eunomia Process Builder offered so many options. Thus, while it may not always be the most intuitive system, informed users will find it a powerful tool for their needs.
Eunomia Process Builder gives you the ability to design process landscapes, organizational charts, and other elements of your business within a larger, integrated design. This allows you to manipulate smaller elements separately before testing them within the overall process. It can even generate your proposed structure as a website, so it can be easily shared with the rest of your organization.
To further expand its usefulness, it is also possible to design in two languages simultaneously. For bi-lingual sites this removes the need to create / clone two identical projects and, instead, you can just roll the second translated website into the initial design.
Unfortunately, the video tutorial and online guide do not really help you learn the base skills, so do not expect Eunomia Process Builder to act as a training platform.
Clean and clear
While it may not be for the uninitiated, process owners, business analysts, developers, project managers and other stakeholders with a background in UML and BPMN languages will find this a useful way to conceptualize projects once they get to grips with all of the program-specific options and menus.
Its utilitarian interface will be familiar to all Windows users, but again - unless you are versed in UML, BPMN, or similar software - you will find it filled with unknown icons, tools, and labels. If you do understand the terms and charts, though, this all becomes a far clearer process, allowing you to put together clearly laid out diagrams and charts that can be easily understood and edited.
Coming with a range of example templates, you either edit an existing process to match your needs or create a new one from scratch. You can add a range of individual sections to include roles, processes, management, and systems, to name just a few - each of which has its own additional options, graphs and processes to build and expand.
For the experts
The complexity of Eunomia Process Builder means that it really is a tool for the initiated. Those looking to create business, IT, management, and other professional processes will certainly find what they are looking for within this exhaustive range of tools.
It should be noted, however, that generally professional users will already have a solution to the niche that Eunomia Process Builder fills. As such, learning a new tool may not be the best use of their time. But smaller companies, without a tool already in place, could find this a perfect fit for the job, as (with a little training) it provides a free solution for small to mid-range projects.
